| Welcome to Mrs. Roth's Second Grade |  | We are a classroom of 24 students. The classroom is located in the Red Gathering area, room 113. Reading in second grade focuses on improving reading skills by working on new vocabulary, decoding new words and reading fluency. Our goal in math is to become proficient in single and two-digit addition and subtraction as well as becoming comfortable with telling time and counting money. We work much on problem solving and critical thinking. Writer's Workshop is another important component in our classroom. Students keep a Writer's Notebook in which they learn to become skilled, confident writers.
